Team Singapore Judo athletes did the country proud in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, bringing home 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Debutants Low Yi long and Aaron Ng won the silver medal and bronze medals in the U100kg and U90kg Categories respectively while Ace Ang improved on his 2017 result by placing 3rd and garnering a hard-fought bronze medal.
6 athletes and 3 officials made up the Team Singapore Judo contingent for the 30th SEA Games in The Philippines. The team consisted of judokas Aaron Ng, Ace Ang, Che Jian, Kom Hwee Ru, Jesmine Chew and Low Yilong. Accompanying them were Team Manager, Azfar Ali, and Coaches, Tang Soon Onn and Ngo Yee Ling.
Waseda and Tokai University, Japan
The Singapore Judo shiai team trained intensively for 6 weeks in Waseda University and Tokai University in Tokyo, Japan. This was in the lead up to the SEA Games in December of 2019.
